After almost 40 years in teaching, the founder of "Pinta Roxa" decided to create a space that would preserve the memory of the sea, the Ria Formosa, fishing, the beach, and the Algarve's heritage. The store offers a variety of items, from postcards for €1.50 to miniature handmade boats that cost up to €300. One of the highlights is the exclusive postcards by photographer Filipe da Palma, with images of Algarve architecture and popular culture. The pieces on display are handmade by locals or people who are passionate about the region. Craftsman Vitorino Nascimento creates detailed miniatures of traditional boats. Amanda McGregor follows the tradition of Santa Catarina tiles. Joana Rosa Bragança contributes illustrations linked to the identity of Olhão. The store values time and space for the contemplation of each piece. Pinta Roxa is a living celebration of the history and art of the Algarve.
